Venezuelan films to be screened in Ireland

For the first time, Irish film goers will have the opportunity to appreciate Venezuelan cinema in Dublin. The Venezuelan Ireland Network has put together a full day of Venezuelan feature films at the New Theatre in Dublin which includes a new independent film: Perros Corazones (2008), as well as Libertador Morales (2009) and Bloques (2008), which are from the Villa del Cine, a newly created film studio which sponsors alternative cinema in Venezuela.

Venezuela Reduces Infant Mortality Rate By 49%

According to the new report “Achieving the Millennium Development Goals” by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the infant mortality rate in Venezuela has fallen by 49 percent over the last nine years.In 1990 the overall infant mortality rate stood at 25.8 per thousand live births and neonatal mortality was 14.0 per thousand live births. >>
