Fedecamaras acknowledges real economical growth
(Agencia Bolivariana de Noticias) - " President of Fedecamaras (Federetaion of Chambers of Trade and Commerce), Mrs. Albis Muñoz, said the business sector admits there have been evident signs of economical growth during the first trimester of 2005, even higher than during 2000 and 2001.
According to some forecasts, this growth will be around 9% of the GDP. Nevertheless, business people conservative to have a more conservative view and say the recovery is between 6% and 7% of the GDP.
The business spokeswoman said this during a forum of ABN (Bolivarian News Agency), where she also said the even if only Fedecamaras conservative forecasts were to materialize, this would still be one of the higher growths in Latin America.
She admitted that economy started growing since the second trimester of 2003 and it kept doing so during 2004, up until the first trimester of 2005.
She said the most evident signs of growth are seen in commerce, because the population has increased the levels consumption and this is reflected directly in this sector.
Munoz also talked about recent government measures (preferential interest rates and subsiding certain levels of income) to boost the construction of houses.
'These measures will boost the sector, because of the reactivation of investment in infrastructure, roads and projects that were paralyzed and slowed down. 'This has a reactivating effect', she said" .
