New agreement with DEA will suppress the agency's operative independence in Venezuelan territory
(El Nacional) - "Regarding the anti-drug co-operation agreement between the US and Venezuela (currently being revised), both representatives from Venezuela and US governments agreed to suppress any term of this agreement that would grant operative independence to the anti-drug agency (DEA) in Venezuelan territory (...)
According to official sources, in this new agreement which is still being drafted, DEA's co-operation will be limited to technological support, training and information exchange with Venezuelan police forces.
They emphasised on the fact that both countries will have to comply with requests for information, without delays or excuses (...)".
