Minister of Foreign Affairs says environment with US will improve

(El Mundo) - "According to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alí Rodríguez Araque, there are enough reasons to preserve relations between the US and Venezuela.

After a lunch meeting with the Secretary General of the Andean Community, Allan Wagner, Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs said the only requirement from his government in order to have good relations with the US is respect, in other words, no intervention in Venezuelan internal affairs.

When asked about the meeting between President Chávez, senator Arlen Specter (President of the US Senate's Judicial Commission) and US Ambassador, the Venezuelan Minister said this meeting was a good symptom, because a normal environment is expected in order to advance towards a positive interrelation. He also said Venezuela's aspiration is to have better relations with the US".
