Major setback: opposition looses 650 councillors

(Panorama Digital) - " Panorama newspaper showed the results from 15 of the 24 Venezuelan states, but by the end of the counting process, the opposition had lost more than 1000 representatives. Political parties like AD and Copei were the most damaged ones.

The opposition suffered major setbacks in all nine elections in which it faced political forces that accompany President Chávez. When the final results arrive, it would have surely lost more than 1000 councillors.

This number will be reached if the current tendency is maintained. Chávez's administration will go from 495 councillors in 2000 to 1.190 in 2005 (...)".
