Brazilian government supports President Chávez
(Últimas Noticias) - "Lula Da Silva 's advisor emphasised the democratic aspects of Chávez's government.
The Brazilian government considered remarks against President Chávez made by Under Secretary of the American State Department, Roger Pardo Maurer, to be 'absurdities of a bad informed officer'. He said it disrupts the countries in the region.
This statement was made by Marco Aurelio García, who is the Special Foreign Policy Advisor to President Lula Da Silva. He also said President Chávez's is not only democratic, but has proven it through a referendum and through regional elections.
García also said he is surprised by attitude shown by the United States when, together with Brazil, 'they supported the country' during its domestic crisis by creating the Friends of Venezuela Group. It is surprising that they now say this, if the current situation is no different than before (...)".
