Clara Rodríguez at Saint John's, Smith Square

Internationally acclaimed Venezuelan pianist Clara Rodríguez under the baton of renowned conductor Levon Parikian and the Nova Symphony Orchestra will perform new and highly exciting works from North and South America. For the first time, the London audience will be able to enjoy two piano concertos by Venezuelan composers alongside the jazzy Girl Crazy Overture by George Gershwin and the Three Dance Episodes from "On the town" by Leonard Bernstein. The elegant and lyrical collection of waltzes arranged and composed by Juan Carlos Núñez represent a homage to the composers of this popular Venezuelan art form and to the music of Caracas in the 19 th and 20 th centuries.

The Second Piano Concerto by Venezuelan composer Federico Ruíz, written between 2003 and 2004 is an impressive and uplifting fresco inspired by the music of Latin America, in particular that of Afro-Caribbean flavour.

Clara's choices of music and performances of Latin American music have been variously described as "Irresistible" by The Independent ; "as vibrant and colourful as anyone can wish" by CD Review ; "extremely enjoyable and above all, wonderfully sunny" by Pianist Magazine .
