Datanalisis: 70% of Venezuelans support President Chave'z administration

(El Universal) - "(...) A public opinion study done by the firm Datanalisis between February 19 th and March 2 nd in 1.300 homes around the country with a sample error of 2,7%, shows that the National Electoral Council is the organization with most support. 65,5% of the people support the work done by the electoral institution and 29,8% reject it. The trust levels on the Electoral Power is similar to the one shown towards the National Assembly, 65,4%; People's Defense (Defensoría del Pueblo) 61,2%; Supreme Court, 60.5%; Office of the Public Prosecutor, 59,5% and Treasury, 59,2% (...)

For the Director of Datanalisis, Luis Vicente León, the high levels of approval towards State organizations are inherited from President Chávez's popularity.

In March, according to Datanalisis, 70,5% of Venezuelans approved President Chávez's administration. This is the highest level of support for the President since February 2000 when his level of acceptance was 76,8%.

(...) 54,8% of Venezuelans does not think President Chávez intends to implement a leftist government. This rejection increases if you only consider the opinion of people identified as pro-government.

(...) 74,3% of anti-Chávez say the President drives the country to a socialist system and 83,4% fear the change intends to copy the Cuban model (...)".
