Chávez says Polar's rights will be respected
(El Universal) - "President Chávez assured Lorenzo Mendoza, President of Polar Enterprises, that he will respect the rights of that industry and also expressed that he has every right to take the case to court in the expropriation case of a plant in Barinas State.
'The State will not run over his rights, in no way'.
He told the Polar executive that a tribunal will decide if the expropriation is unconstitutional. 'If that is the case, you can be sure your premises will be returned. If the government of Barinas State is right, an expropriation procedure is correct, then a payment will be made for the value of the property' (...)
President Chávez also expressed the government's interest in producing more corn and pre-cooked flour (...)".
