Venezuela condemns the Posada case
(El Universal) - "President Hugo Chávez condemned the decision of a US tribunal, in which exile Luis Posada Carriles cannot be handed to Venezuelan or Cuban authorities, because he could be tortured.
Chávez said the decision by a judge from El Paso, Texas, was 'cynical' and that in his opinion it eludes the fact that Posada Carriles brought down a plane from Cubana de Aviacion in 1976, killing 73 people.
'They have decided in favour of Posada the terrorist, because they think he will be tortured. You can see how cynical they are, said Chávez, in Guantanamo they do torture people, as they also do in Abu Ghraib' (...)".
