Argentina and Venezuela will
hold meetings to benefit mining sector
(BNamericas.com) - "The Argentine
and Venezuelan governments are to hold a round
of meetings which will benefit miners and oil
industry suppliers to generate new market development
opportunities, an Argentine mining official told
BNamericas.
Companies from different production sectors from
both countries will participate in the meetings,
to be held end-July in Venezuela's Caribbean Isla
Margarita.
These meetings form part of an agreement reached
months ago by Argentine President Nestor Kirchner
and Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez to
increase commercial relations and integration
between the two countries in the mining, oil,
agricultural and food industry sectors.
With this in mind, a few days ago Argentina's
mining secretary Jorge Mayoral traveled to Caracas
to meet with executives from Venezuelan state
oil company PDVSA and with government ministers
to plan the round of meetings".
