PDVSA ports receive ISPS certification
(BNamericas.com) - "Venezuela's
state oil company PDVSA has received the international
maritime organization's ISPS security code certification
for its terminals, government news agency Gobierno
en Línea quoted company president Alí
Rodríguez as saying.
The terminals at Cardon, Amuay, Bajo Grande Gas
and Bajo Grande refinery, La Salina, Puerto Miranda,
PRALCA, El Tablazo, El Palito, Borburata, Guaraguao
and José have all been certified.
Certification of security measures at the ports
is necessary to comply with US government requirements
for vessels destined for US ports. Inspections
were performed by INEA, the national aquatic spaces
institute.
PDVSA spent 32bn bolivares (US$17mn) to improve
security measures of its ports and vessels".
