Unido proposes tech revamp for
CVG
(BNamericas.com) - "The United Nations
Industrial Development Organization (Unido) has
proposed a number of information technology (IT)
projects for Venezuelan industrial holding company
CVG, according to a CVG a statement.
The first IT platform would promote trade and
investment within the CVG group by linking its
industries with Venezuelan diplomatic missions
and trade networks around the world, CVG said.
The second project would keep aluminum sector
players informed of technological innovations
that can help with decision-making and ways to
increase investments, Venezuela's Unido representative
Gustavo Márquez said in the statement.
The aluminum sector is ideal for setting up a
local technology pole in conjunction with universities,
CVG divisions and incubators for new tech firms.
The sector requires inventions to overcome bottlenecks,
CVG industrial promotion vice president Alice
Brandt said.
The CVG board will now examine the project and
implementation will depend on strategic agreements
for financing and technical assistance, Márquez
added"
