Venezuelan Vice-President: Communal Councils are necessary to supervise the administration of the government

(ABN) - "The Vice-President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Rodríguez, stressed the need of creating 30,000 communal councils nationwide in order to supervise the administration of the national government.

'We expect for the creation of 30,000 communal councils to control that the national government does a good work. The members of the communal councils must oblige us to fulfill our promises,' Rodríguez said.

The Vice President made the remark during the great assembly of the popular power's explosion of the Promoting Committee of the Communal Council 'La Nueva Voz', in the popular parish of San Agustin, Caracas.

'The Venezuelan people has changed, the people need to be organized. We cannot wait for the decisions taken by the governors, majors or ministers. On the contrary, the people must tell the authorities what they have to do.'

Furthermore, he said that he will attend the next meeting of the San Agustín community to be held on May 5th along with the Infrastructure Minister, José David Cabello; the Social Development and Participation Minister, David Velásquez; the Environment Minister, Yubirí Ortega and the Habitat and Housing Minister, Ramón Carrizalez. In the meeting, the authorities and the community will discuss about important public works for the people.

Rodríguez said that they will discuss about the construction of the cable car in poor communities, the construction of sewage aqueducts and the building of decent houses for those people who live in shanty towns.

'We have created 5 constituent motors to end with the huge difference between rich and poor people. We cannot allow that some people still live in a sewer,' Rodríguez said".
