School matriculation reached 12.7 million students in 2007 (ABN) - "The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez Frías, underscored that this year the school matriculation reached 12.7 million students. He labeled the fact as 'the result of a revolutionary educative policy'. The statements were made during his program, Aló Presidente.
'In 2001, reached 6.9 millions; in 2002, 7 millions; in 2003, 9.5 millions; in 2004, 11.3 millions; in 2005, 11.8 millions; in 2006, school matriculation reached 12.1 millions; and in 2007, we reached 12.7 million students', he emphasized.
Right away, Chávez indicated that the raise in the educative matriculation 'has to be accompanied by quality jumps' (...)".
