PDVSA: First liquefied natural gas train operational by 2010

(BNamericas.com) - "Venezuela's first liquefied natural gas (LNG) train will be able to process 1 billion cubic feet of natural gas a day by 2010, state oil firm PDVSA president Rafael Ramírez said in a speech.

'We have planned our first gas liquefaction plant for 2010,' the official said. The train will be the first of its kind in Venezuela. Neighboring Trinidad & Tobago by comparison has four LNG trains. Ramírez also said Venezuela's proven gas reserves of 151 trillion cubic feet (Tf3) could 'soon' expand 196Tf3".
