New Cardinal was designated

(Agencia Bolivariana de Noticias) - "Venezuelan Vice President, José Vicente Rangel, said he was pleased with the designation of Jorge Urosa Savino as the new Venezuelan Cardinal.

This was informed by the Venezuelan Vice President through a press release in which he said that in his opinion, Pope Benedict's decision and perception of Venezuela is favourable to our country.

In this sense, Vice President Rangel said this decision "shows the Pope's perception of the excellent human aspects of the Venezuelan prelate and its capability to transmit God's word to the Venezuelan people. Venezuela as a country is highlighted, as well as this Venezuelan with such extraordinary background, making us all very proud".

Vice President Rangel also expressed that on the occasion of being designated Cardinal, monsignor and Caracas' archbishop Jorge Urosa talked about the positive implications his designation has on issues like dialogue and understanding (...)"
