60,000 new voters enrol in electoral register

(El Universal) - "Sixty thousand new voters have registered with the electoral register since February 1st, when a campaign for new registrations and data updating started, said Tuesday Oscar Battaglini, director of the National Electoral Council, the official news agency ABN reported.

Updating of the electoral register is under way with a view to complete the electoral survey for next December 3rd presidential election.

CNE estimates that more than 2 million new voters are to register with the electoral register. The top electoral body is operating 1,200 electoral updating centers nationwide, ABN added. This updating and registration campaign is to end on September 4th "..
