CNE ratifies update of electoral register nationwide

(El Universal) - "The National Electoral Council (CNE) continues a campaign to update the electoral register and to register new voters ahead of the election for president next December 3rd.

Oscar Battaglini, president of the CNE committee for civil and electoral register, confirmed that the campaign update of the electoral register and registration of new voters would be in place up to September 4th. Subsequently, CNE is to prepare the electoral survey for next presidential election, official news agency ABN reported.

Any Venezuelans willing to change their personal data or those of legal age, who want to cast their ballots in the upcoming election, may appear at the CNE offices nationwide for such purposes.

In Caracas , data updates and new registrations can be made at malls and subway stations besides CNE offices and balloting centers.

This campaign started last February 1st, and over two million new voters are expected to enrol".
