The social "street parliament"
(El Nacional) - "During the third query session, participants of the social 'street parliament', which has been carried out by the National Assembly during the past three weeks, intends to give Venezuelans a discussion arena that allows them to participate in the decision making process regarding issues that concern their communities.
This time, MP's from the capital district used the Caracas neighbourhood of El Calvario as location for the Third Session of the Social Street Parliament in order to discuss the legal reforms that are being studied in terms of Public Planning Local Councils, the Intergovernmental Fund and special financial allocations.
Participants were organised around working tables and were given copies of the laws and the changes that are being analysed by the MP's. After the discussion, suggestions and observations were handed to each table coordinator. Participants were then given a question sheet about specific items of the laws that were being reviewed (...)".
