More than $438 million for 'Mision Ciencia' social programme
(El Universal) - "Most of the 147th edition of President Chávez's TV programme Aló Presidente broadcasted from the city of Puerto Ordaz, was dedicated to the launch of the social programme 'Misión Ciencia' (Mission Science), which will cost more than $438 million.
During the broadcast, Minister of Science and Technology, Yadira Córdova, explained in detail, among other aspects, the ten strategic lines of investment and development: biotechnology; metallurgy and new materials; information and communication technologies; electronics and micro-electronics; urbanism; industrial processes; geology; energy and military technology.
When explaining the annual goals, President Chávez said by the end of 2006, 180,000 teachers must have been incorporated to schools and 2,000 students to postgraduate studies. According to the President, by the end of 2006, a total of 50 development and investment projects will be in place (...)".
