Tourist flow increased 13.8% during the last quarter of 2005

(El Universal) - "The flow of incoming tourists increased 13.8 percent in the last quarter of 2005, over the same period the previous year, with revenues at YSD 151.3 million, the National Statistics Institute reported (INE.)

'A total of 156,256 foreign visitors spend USD 151.3 million in their trips to Venezuela during the fourth quarter of 2005,' INE specified in a press release.

Expense of foreign tourists during such period grew by 2.3 percent, as compared to the fourth quarter of 2004, according to the Survey of Receptive Tourism conducted by INE at Maiquetía International Airport, the major air terminal in Venezuela, 'based on a sample of international flights.'

A third of visitors, about 55,405 people, came from Europe; 41,362 were from the United States, and the remainder from other regions, Efe reported".
