(Prensa Latina) - "Venezuela is preparing the South American Energy Integration Summit, scheduled for April 16-17 in Caracas, Rodolfo Sanz, deputy foreign minister for Latin America and the Caribbean, said.

According to the official, the Meeting of High Level Delegates of the Energy Group of the South American Union of Nations was held in this capital, as part of the preparations for the summit.

The meeting was held in an atmosphere of camaraderie and -it seems that from now on we can be certain that energy integration will advance at a faster pace,- pointed out Sanz.

Participants in the meeting debated general issues on South American energy integration and reached consensus on the Political Declaration of the Summit.

They also agreed on the creation of working groups to discuss issues related to oil, power generation, gas, biofuels and alternative energy sources".
