Chávez: communities will get financing (Prensa Latina) - "Venezuela's President Hugo Chávez confirmed 2.7 billion dollar support to community councils, a key element in the new national socialist project.
Chávez lashed at the practice of storing these funds in bank accounts instead of securing accessibility, so he plans to withdraw their management from the ministries and other bodies.
The statesman called on the community organizations to build Bolivarian socialism 'for the good of the homeland' and asked the people to attend a national day of voluntary work.
President Chávez said 'there cannot be socialism without voluntary work,' which he called vital for the process".
