Venezuela's socialism backs the private property

(ABN) - "President Hugo Chávez underlined that the private businessmen and the small producers are invited to participate in the building of the socialism of XXI century because to in this new socialism model the mixed economic system is included.

During his weekly program 'Hello President' from Cojedes station on Sunday, President Chávez made a call to all the Venezuelans of not believing in rumors, especially in those that assure that the national government does not respect the private property.

He pointed out that the Venezuelan socialist model is unique and cannot be compared with other similar experiences, even the Cuban one, because each country, each period and each people have special characteristics.

Chávez highlighted that each country has its own experiences, 'I ratify the building of the socialism of the XXI century. We will build our own socialism model with special features such as the mixed economy. We do not deny the private property'.

In this sense, he highlighted that the right of the private property is contemplated in the Bolivarian constitution approved in 1999.

«We are building our own model, a model that supports the mixed economy,» said the President who added «we support the private property; however, the private property must be in function of the social benefit' (...)".
