Living Conditions of the Venezuelans have improved significantly

(Agencia Bolivariana de Noticias) - "The index measuring the quality of living conditions of the Venezuelan people has improved in the last years, according to results of the III National Survey of Family Budgets produced by Venezuela's Central Bank (BCV) in 2005 together with the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

The Director of Economic Statistics of the Institute, Luis Armando Rodríguez, explains that this index of living conditions is calculated from an equation that takes into account aspects such as the health environment, conditions of property, education of head of the family and income.

From these elements we arrive to a synthetic index which varies between 0 and 100 points. Higher value of index, higher level of well being, declared Rodríguez.

Therefore, the index of living conditions by administrative region registered a similar performance to that of national average, where variations of 1997 versus 2005 were: Capital (77.4% to 88.3%); Centre (75.8% to 85.1%); Andes (66.8% to 84%); South (64.3% to 81.6%); West (69.1% to 80.8%); Zulia (69.8% to 80.5%); Llanos (64.7% to 75.9%) and East (63.5% to 75.6%)".
