(ABN) - "The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez Frías, activated the new Socialist Comprehensive Technical-Productive Center (SCTPC) Colonel Antonio Nicolás Briceño, in Trujillo State in Venezuela.

The starting of operations of this center is part of the structure of a new socialist productive system in Venezuelan fields.

This center for training and economic activation is located in the Andean area with an area of 743 hectares.

The investment made by the Bolivarian Government in this center was around Bs. 12 billion (about US$ 5.5 million) allowing, among others, to include one thousand 492 cattle heads of Holland-Argentine breed, which have among their dairy characteristics the longevity. Adults can weight up to 650 kilograms (about 1400 pounds) and height up to 1.5 meters (about 4.9 feet).

The goal of this kind of center is to increase the milk production, to encourage semen production, to produce and transfer embryos, as well as young bulls.

This center counts with an irrigation system, a Barrio Adentro module (for health care), appropriate roads for access, and facilities for 40 cattle, sheep, caprine, pork, and equine animals. The center is the result of the cooperation and support between Argentina and Venezuela.

Recently, a similar center of socialist production was inaugurated by the President of the Republic in Barinas State. The SCTPC Florentino had an investment of Bs. 49 billion (about US$ 22.7 million) for the first stage.

Florentino was created to administrate, promote, produce, transform, industrialize, export, import, and commercialize agricultural products of bovine origin, and its derivatives, genetic materials, products, sub-products, machinery, equipments, and consumables for its production and industrialization.

The socialist production center of Trujillo will also be useful to make infrastructure needed to comply with their objectives, to elaborate and execute development projects in the livestock sector and natural resources conservation.

Likewise, it will render services of technical and advisory assistance, carry out studies and investigations, to develop strategic programs in production matter of genetic material for the strengthening of the national bovine flock, as well as any other activity of licit commerce related to the industry and production of the livestock agricultural sector.

As an essential point, the SCTPC are channels to promote the 'citizenship participation inside the agricultural production plans, regionally and nationally, in order to guarantee stable, increasing, and permanent supply of meat and milk products, as well as its derivatives, under the socialist productive model', the informative bulletin of the Ministry of the People's Power for Communication and Information explains.

Another characteristic of these centers is that they have facilities for teaching and training with classrooms, conference rooms, libraries, study rooms, residencies, and dining halls".
