Venezuela to sign cooperation agreement on educational TV with Latin American countries
(Ministry of Education and Sports Press Office, published by Ven Global News) - "The goal is to change the private media's audiovisual language in order to encode messages aimed at highlighting education and to lump together the cultural work carried out by the independent community media.
Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Cuba and Venezuela agreed on signing several cooperation agreements on educational television as a result of the exchange of experiences on the occasion of the forum called 'Role of the Educational Television for the Latin American integration,' held at the Venezuelan Ministry of Education and Sports (MED, Spanish acronym), on July 3 and 4.
According to Ovilia Suárez, Coordinator of Educational Development of Vive TV and MED representative before the Board of Directors of the ATEI, these agreements provides for the joint broadcasting of programs made by different Latin American educational televisions as an strategy to spread the region's culture and customs.
Suárez pointed out that Vive TV, as Venezuelan educational television, 'found it easy to break paradigms in the education and audiovisual area. Thanks to the joint effort and work, the Venezuelan roots are rediscovered.'
Director of the Cuban Educational Television, Néstor Ruiz, expressed that 'there is a generalized educational television in Cuba, involving two recently opened TV channels (Educational Channel and Educational Channel 2), whose programming can be accessed by people in general.' He emphasized these TV educational channels aim is to the make the educational television massive, good-quality and responding to the society's interests in the adolescents' and children's education.'
The forum called 'Role of the Educational Television for the Latin American Integration' gathered representatives of Venezuelan independent community media such as Canal Z, Teletambores, Camunare Rojo y Catia TV, who explained that their work is based on the direct contact with communities isolated and forgotten by the traditional media.
All the contributions made by the international and national guests, as well as the audience attending this forum, will be handed in to the Venezuelan Minister of Education and Spots, Aristóbulo Istúriz, who will be in charge of making them public at the Summit of Ministers of Education and Culture to be held soon in Montevideo, Uruguay".
