Venezuelan exports increased 62.5%

(El Nacional) - "According to a preliminary report by the National Statistics Institute (INE) Venezuelan exports increased 62.5% during the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2005.

President of INE, Elías Eljuri, said this positive behaviour of foreign sales is a consequence of the national economy's consecutive growth during the past 10 quarters (...)

Exports registered by the institute exclude iron, crude oil and its derivates from the public sector.

Eljuri highlighted that 81.2% of the total amount exported during the first quarter of 2006 is concentrated in Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, US, Netherlands, Spain, Brasil and Italy (...)".
