Agreements with Qatar

(El Universal) - "(.) On the occasion of President Chávez's visit to Qatar, both the governments of Qatar and Venezuela subscribed two important agreements in the commercial sector, which will expand the cooperation scope between the two countries.

This was informed by Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and Middle East, Alcides Rondón, after signing both agreements with the assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs from Qatar, Sheikh Muladdam al Uainir in that city's Chancillery.

Hugo Chávez visited the TV station Al Yazira in Doha, capital of Qatar, where he said 'it is a terrible thing because most casualties are women and children' when referring to the military aggression from the State of Israel towards Lebanon.

The visit took place in company of Emir Sheik Hamad bin Califa al Thani. Chávez's idea of Telesur was inspired in Al Jazira.

President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, will sign several agreements for oil investment with President Chávez. The Iranian presidential office informed Chávez will be awarded the High Medal of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Gholamreza Manouchehri, President of Petropras, informed they will then sign a long term investment agreement".
