National Elections Council will meet to discuss publicity norms

(Agencia Bolivariana de Noticias) - "Directors of the Electoral Power met with representatives of the national media in order to find out about their observations and opinions regarding the norms of publicity and propaganda that will rule the electoral campaign for the next presidential election in December 2006.

President of the National Elections Council, Tibisay Lucena, said the CNE's intention is to be in constant communication and permanently linked so 'all of us, with great commitment, can make this a good electoral campaign until December 3rd' (...)

The CNE will have a board meeting to start the last round of debates and sessions regarding norms and regulations for publicity and propaganda to be approved

President of the CNE said the draft of regulations under discussion is 'excellent'. She also said regulations that are still being debated seek to find a good balance and that 'we are going to ensure the rules of the CNE are complied with' (....)

Lucena highlighted they are giving opportune responses with facts, decisions and actions, to each and every observation and requirement made to the CNE".
