Tibisay Lucena: There is more electoral transparency in Venezuela than in the US

(El Nacional) - "President of the National Electoral Council, Tibisay Lucena, said elections in Venezuela are more transparent than those in the US . 'The Venezuelan Electoral Registry is the most audited one in Latin America ', she said.

She explained that the audit from the Centre for Electoral Advisory and Promotion (Capel) determined the margin error is 2,3%, which is half of the Latin American average. She also said after the presidential elections on 3rd December, between 53% and 55% of the electoral boxes will be randomly audited.

She also referred to the participation of new voters. 'During the past few years, the CNE has been working to democratize the right to vote through a nationwide plan to increase the number of election centres', she adds".
