PDVSA and Scottish university ink training deal

(BNamericas.com) - "Venezuela's state oil firm PDVSA and Scotland's Robert Gordon University have signed an agreement to train company employees in the oil and gas engineering areas, PDVSA reported.

Initially, 60 PDVSA workers will benefit from the agreement. PDVSA deputy E&P president Luis Vierma and university director of technological information Andrew McCreath participated in the signing ceremony.

PDVSA aims to train 600 professionals at Robert Gordon over the next five years. Vierma told BNamericas months ago the company had been left somewhat vulnerable after the 2002-03 oil strike, which ended with some 20,000 workers either leaving or being fired".
