CNE ready to elect members of boards for elections

(El Universal) - "As scheduled, the National Electoral Council (CNE) is to conduct a public ballot next June 30th to choose the members of regional, municipal and parish boards ahead of the elections for president next December 3rd.

The computerized choice will be made in each regional chapter of the Electoral Power. There, the list of the people randomly elected will be posted from July 3rd. Additionally, the names will be published from July 15th on CNE website www.cne.gov.ve or through 0800 votemos (0800 868367).

As noted in a press release from CNE, Article 37, Organic Law on Suffrage and Political Participation, sets forth that six months in advance to the elections, CNE, with the cooperation of educational authorities, guilds, and professional associations, will prepare draft lists including college graduates, eligible for the election boards.

Members of the board should be also Venezuelan voters, in moral good standing and with no links to any political party or voters' groups".
