Special security plan in borderline states
(El Universal) - "Ministry of the Interior and Justice Jesse Chacón insisted on saying that abduction and bribery in Venezuela got worse after the beginning of Colombia paramilitary demobilization. Formerly, Colombian Foreign Minister Carolina Barco had denied any relationship of both issues.
Chacón briefed on a special security plan in borderline states to fight blackmail, kidnapping and drug traffic.
'In Bolívar state, arrangements are being made with the Governor to organize an anti-bribery and anti-abduction task force as well as an anti-drug agency. Táchira state has one already. We are taking steps for a similar organization in Zulia, Apure , Amazonas and Barinas. These are the states with the highest levels.'
'If there is a country in the world where abductions solve in the short term, that is Venezuela.' He added that the intelligence joint efforts by the National Guard and the Scientific, Penal and Criminology Investigation Agency (Cicpc) will be reinforced to find the core of the criminal network related to paramilitaries, guerrillas and drug traffickers in Colombia ".
