CNE ponders use of outsourcer to monitor electoral campaign on the media

(El Universal) - "The National Electoral Council (CNE) board of directors is discussing a proposal from the Political Participation and Financing Board to use an outsourcer to monitor compliance with electoral advertising and propaganda in the local media.

The board of directors is also to assess the opposition presidential pre-candidates' demands regarding the use of automated balloting machines in next December 3rd presidential election, as well as in connection with the count of paper ballots.

CNE directors intend to make a decision on these two issues by the end of June. Then, over the first two weeks of July, they are to decide on the rules governing the presidential election and the use of fingerprint capture machines".
