Venezuelan Movilnet cellphone Co. customers welcome 10% drop
(VHeadline.com) - "Reductions in the process of calling on Movilnet Co. cellphones have stated. The company is part of Telecom CANTV, which the government has re-nationalized this year.
Pre-paid services will be reduced 10% and covers calls to other cellphones and from a landline to a cellphone. The measure is the first stage of a 20% discount, which will be fully applied on August 15.
During the re-nationalization of Telecom CANTV and its subsidiaries, Movilnet and Caveguia, President Chávez says the company has been liberated of neo-liberal policies and will become a new Socialist Telecom company.
CANTV president, Jacqueline Farías says the company has been working on designing services for public officials and community spokespersons as part of a range of the new benefits that the company is offering.
According to the government, Movilnet's service will benefit more than 2 million customers reaching 10 million by the end of the year. Last year, the company registered 7.9 million subscribers".
