Maybe it is because it allows us to explore exotic and incredibly beautiful places, which we would never have believed existed under the sea, maybe it is because we possess, in our country, on ample variety of locations where we con enjoy the marvels of the underwater world, or maybe it is because reminiscences of archaic marine creatures from whom we descend, arise to haunt us; the truth of the matter is that scuba diving has become one of the most highly accepted sports, and in great demand, in the lost few years. It is very entertaining activity that any person may practice regularly.

Diving does not require on extraordinary physical condition, nor previous strenuous and prolonged training periods, age is not important, nor is gender, we are all equal under water. All we need is to respect our own limitations, posses the appropriate equipment and be very attentive to the basic safety rules of diving, in order to avoid possible physiological consequences.

An alternative reality exists under water by which the tyrannical force of gravity is substituted by the freedom of weightlessness and in this way, in on atmosphere 800 times denser than air, our movements become as if in slow motion. Under water, our heart beats slower (so as to save oxygen) and our blood is redirected from our extremities to the brain; reason why we must insure that we have the necessary knowledge and the appropriate training before we dive into the depths of this exhilarating sport.

In order to obtain the necessary theoretical and practical instructions, diverse options exist, starting from a few short lessons at the installations of some prestigious hotel, to complete courses taught at specialized schools, that are certified and sponsored by the most renowned agencies associated to RSTC (Recreational Scuba Training Council), which regulates the minimum standards of knowledge that each agency must fulfill in their teaching programs. Some of these agencies are: SSI (Scuba School International), IDEA (International Diving Educators Association) and PADI (Professional Association of Diving Professionals).

Scuba diving can be an existing and gratifying experience, whenever it is undertaken with responsibility and one can rely on the serious guidance and orientation of professionals, and obviously, have the desire to discover the marvels awaiting us at the bottom of the sea.
