120 plays at Caracas Theater Festival

(Prensa Latina) - "Over 120 spectacles will be presented at Caracas International Theater Festival from March 31 to April 16, announced organizers of the event.

Germany will be the country guest of honor in this cultural meeting expected to be attended by participants from 14 nations, including United Kingdom Argentina, Cuba, Spain, the US and France.

According to Carmen Ramia, official in charge of the festival, 23 foreign and 21 local groups will share stage at over 15 Venezuelan institutions serving as headquarters of the festival.

Questioned on the German participation, organizers explained that Goethe Institute selected the four-contestant plays, including one by Henry Ibsen and the well-known 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?'.

They highlighted the excellence and professionalism of this European academy.

Parallel cultural events, meetings with participant artists, workshops on stage arts, and a fashion show count among the activities in Caracas as part of this 16th Theater Festival".
