FAA representatives visit Venezuela
(El Nacional) - "President of the National Aeronautic Institute (INAC), Francisco Paz Fleitas, has made it clear on several occasions that the only authority that can evaluate Venezuela's aeronautic capabilities is the Organization of International Civil Aviation (OACI). This organization certified with 88.27%, the effective application of aeronautic modernization in Venezuela, according to its last audit in 2004.
However, starting today, representatives of INAC will have several meetings with a delegation of four officials from the US aeronautic authority: the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in order to review different aspects related to operational safety in the country (...)
Mr. Paz Fleitas informed that the FAA delegation will be in Venezuela until 30th March, which is also when INAC's restrictive measures against US airlines begin.
Among the aspects to be reviewed by representatives of Venezuelan and US aeronautic authorities, are the supervision of pilot and technical personnel's licenses; Venezuelan airline planning and maintenance, as well as legal regulations of the national aeronautic sector (...)".
