Bank senior officers meet in Venezuela
(El Universal) - "The presidents of central banks in the hemisphere are to make an insight into economic integration in Latin America and the Caribbean during the International Financial Integration Seminar held at the Venezuelan Central Bank (BCV) headquarters.
This will be an opportunity to discuss how central banks can work, in addition to making monetary policies, for a real economy, such as production, income, income distribution, and investments, BCV president Gastón Parra Luzardo explained.
In addition to Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela -the host countries- the presidents or representatives of central banks in Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Belize, Peru and Cuba, among others, will attend the event, BCV reported in a press release.
The officials will deal with the progress made in economic and financial integration in the hemisphere and prospects of monetary and financial convergence. Challenges, obstacles and opportunities for legal, political and economic integration will be also explored".
