Uruguay and Venezuela Presidents sign nine agreements during State visit
(VHeadline.com News) - "During a State visit to Caracas, Uruguayan President Tabaré Vazquéz has signed 4 cooperation agreements, 2 letters of intention and 5 contracts with the Venezuelan government.
An agreement has been signed to promote the development and incorporation of information technologies, facilitating improvement of administrative, financial and logistic processes.
The two countries have also agreed to develop further a national software industry.
In housing, there has been agreement on creating mechanisms of cooperation and in health, while aid has been pledged in healthcare and medical science, especially regarding training of staff and projecting technical assistance.
The two countries will develop the Venesat1 program called the Simón Bolívar Satellite for joint use of the Orbital 78 position requested by Uruguay for its Urusat-3 program.
A memorandum of understanding on basic industries and mining, as well as assets and services, was signed.
In aviation, Venezuelan flagship Conviasa airline and Uruguay's Pluna airline will open up shares.
Among other contracts signed is the purchase-sale of 50% of shares belonging to the Uruguayan sugar refinery Ancar and between Venezuela's Economic and Social Development Bank (Bandes) and the National Savings & Credit Cooperative of Uruguay".
