CNE endorses schedule to correct inconsistencies in voting register
(El Universal) -"The National Electoral Council (CNE,) through the Committee of Civil and Electoral Registration, has approved a schedule of activities to upgrade the data on voters and correct the inconsistencies found in the register of voters by the Electoral Advisory and Promotion Center (Capel,) state news agency ABN reported.
The strategy includes five modules to be completed in 14-week term from April 1st to July 16th of this current year, CNE explained in a press release.
Module one will work on Capel recommendations to join efforts with the Bureau for Nationals and Foreigners Identification (Onidex) to solve irregularities in the identification data of voters.
The module will establish a procedure to delete potential duplication and also to detect the serial numbers contained in the identity cards of naturalized foreigners.
Module two intends to improve training of finger-reading machine operators and the quality of finger printing in CNE database by means of clearance.
Also, there will be a new procedure to capture all the 10 fingers and a proposal to integrate both Onidex and CNE fingerprint databases".
