Horizontal power in Venezuela
(Aporrea) - "French writer Michel Maffesoli said Venezuela is promoting true mechanisms of horizontal power.
During the forum 'Post Modern Ways of Political Management' celebrated in the Universidad Central de Venezuela and organized by the Caracas Mayor's Office, Maffesoli explained these mechanisms are expressed in the government's proposals to boost the power of the people (...)
In his exposition he explained how, within the construction of horizontal power, emerge participation models that are promoted by Venezuela and in which national unity prevails based on the idea of creating social consensus that will translate in equality among the people.
These models break with authoritarian and vertical patterns and give way to the explosion and empowerment of the people, Maffesoli said. We live in a world in which we dispose of verticality and assume horizontality to start building from the bottom to the top, from the basis (...)
