Venezuela and Italy subscribe deals
(El Nacional) - "During the first Meeting of the Venezuelan/Italian Council, which studies the possibility of bilateral investments, Venezuela and Italy signed co-operation agreements for infrastructure, energy, economy, tourism and education sectors.
Both countries signed 11 letters of intention and 4 understanding memorandums, including a project for building factories of train and railway parts with the help of Italian companies.
On the other hand, Venezuela will give energy advise to the European country.
During his recent visit to Italy , President Hugo Chávez proposed selling oil to the Italian government. During the signing of agreements in Caracas , President Chávez said 'What we have signed today in this ceremony is a great step which commits and obliges. I will personally be on top of this commitment'.
The Italian Under Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Gianpaolo Battamio, who leaded his country's delegation, said 'what we have signed today reflects principles of mutual agreement between our countries'.
Battamio announced the next meeting of the Italian/Venezuelan Council 'will be in Rome in 2006' (...)". |
