UN congratulates Venezuela for anti racial and anti ethnic discrimination activities
(El Nacional) - "The UN Committee for Eradication of Racial Discrimination (CERD) recognised the actions taken by Venezuela to eliminate any form racial and ethnic discrimination. Its members were satisfied by the final observations made on the report by the Human Rights State Agency to the Inter American and International System.
The CERD also applauded the Radio and Television Responsibility Law- because it promotes tolerance among people-, as well as the progress made on relations between government and non-government organisations that represent African descendants (...)
The CERD was also pleased by the creation of institutions specialised on the fight against discrimination, such as: Presidential Commission to Combat all Forms of Discrimination, the National Co-ordination of Indigenous Health and the Directorate of Indigenous Education of the Ministry of Sports and Education (...)". |
