UE will send 150 observers for legislative elections

(Ultimas Noticias) - "The European Union confirmed its intention to send a delegation to observe Venezuela's electoral process on December 4th, in which representatives to the National Assembly will be elected.

This information was given by the European Commissioner of Foreign Relations and Vicinity Policies, Benita Ferrero, after she met in Brussels with Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alí Rodríguez Araque.

'During this meeting, I have informed Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs that our intention is to accept your country's invitation to observe the coming legislative elections on December 4th 2005', Ferrero said.

'At the European Commission we follow Venezuela's situation with great interest', said the official, 'particularly the efforts to promote national reconciliation and democratic principals in a environment of respect, tolerance and dialogue' (...)
