Elías Eljuri, President of the National Institute of Statistics (INE), said that during the first quarter of 2006 there was a reduction in the amount of poor homes as well as homes in extreme poverty. 33.9% of Venezuelan homes are poor and 10,9% live in extreme poverty. |
