The demand for Hotels increased by 12% in the first semester of the year (El Universal) - "The demand for hotel rooms is on the same wave length as the country's economic revival.
At the close of the first semester of this year the demand for rooms increased 12% versus the same period in 2006.
General occupancy is 78% as opposed to last year in this same period, was 72%, informed the President of the Venezuelan National Hotel Federation (Fenahoven), Ricardo Cussano Musci.
In the last three years the industry has been very active to the point that the majority of the hotels in the capital and major cities lacked immediate accommodation especially the luxurious ones.
'The need for bigger developments and infrastructure is increasing rapidly. Presently there are 30 major projects to be executed, mainly in the areas with access to the sea' (.)". |
