Venezuelans support constitution change

(Prensa Latina) - "The Venezuelan Congress highlighted the support given to constitutional changes during a public debate held in Ciudad Bolívar, also attended by representatives of the country's eastern states.

The National Assembly Joint Commission to reform the Constitution, headed by Congress President Cilia Flores, met with delegates from Bolivar, Amazonas, Monagas, Anzoátegui and Sucre.

The move is part of actions to exchange opinions and suggestions on President Chávez' proposal to change 33 articles of the Constitution.

Flores highlighted the support given by the population during discussions and said the citizens 'maintain their solidarity with the revolutionary process.'

She added that an article-by-article constitutional revision will start October 9, taking into account recommendations stemming from public discussion of the project".
